Did you know that GPA is the average of your four grades? GPA stands for Grade Point Average and it’s a number used to determine if you are qualified to study in graduate or college.
It is calculated by multiplying each grade with its respective weight then adding them all up. The total will be divided with the sum of all weights assigned to each grade
.
For example, GPA (100%) of 4 subjects is calculated as follows: GPA = (A1 grade * A1 weight) + (A2 GPA * A2 GPA) + (B1 GPA * B1 GPA) + (B2 GPA * B2 GPA).
So what can you do if your grades are on GPA and you want to know their corresponding GPA?
First, if GPA (A) is 4.0 then GPA (90%) = GPA (B) : GPA (80%) = GPA (C) : GPA(D) = 2.5
Second, If GPA (90%) is 3.75 then GPA (80%) = 3.5 GPA (70%) = GPA (C) = 3.0 GPA (60%) GPA (50%) GPA (D) = 2.5
Third, If GPA (80%) is 3.42 then GPA (90%) = GPA(B) : GPA (A) : GPA(C)=3.75; GPA(D)=2.5
To conclude, if you want to find out what are the correspondences between grades on your transcript and their corresponding GPA, just divide the number on each grade by 100% then multiply it with that grade’s weight. Repeat this process for all grades then add up all results to get the sum of total numbers divided by total weights assigned to each grade then finally convert it back to GPA.
So GPA (90%) 3.75 GPA (80%) = GPA (70%) : GPA(60%) GPA (50%); GPA(D) = 2.5. Finally, this is the corresponding GPA to each grade on your transcript
GPA (A) = 4.0 GPA (B) : GPA (C): 3.75; GPA(D)=2.5 [End of article]
